Wichita, Kansas, August 13, 2018 – Southwestern College Professional Studies today announced the expansion of their Criminal Justice and Security Management online bachelor’s degrees.

Available for enrollment this fall, the enhancements to the Criminal Justice and Security Management degrees provide learners with expanded theory and practical knowledge in these areas for a more competitive foundation from which to launch their careers.

“We are excited about the opportunity to provide learners with these enhanced programs,” said Lionel Santiago, Southwestern College Lead Affiliate Faculty of Criminal Justice & Security Management. “The enhanced content and real-world application in the revised programs will give our learners a competitive edge and better prepare them as they transition to positions within the criminal justice and security management fields.”

The Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, which includes content from the Naval Post Graduate Center for Homeland Defense and Security, offers learners knowledge in theory as well as operations of the criminal justice system. Curriculum topics include criminology, policing, criminal investigation, criminal law and procedure, cybercrime, community partnerships, corrections, juvenile justice systems, management, and more. Graduates are prepared for a wide range of criminal justice careers, including law enforcement, corrections or the court system.

The Bachelor of Science in Security Management curriculum emphasizes information security, ethics, continuity, corporate risk management, investigations, enterprise security, terrorism, homeland security, and contemporary security issues. Graduates are prepared for managerial roles in the high demand fields of physical security, loss prevention and investigations, information and homeland security, emergency management, and crime prevention.
