Student Resources Receive Upgrades in 2020

Effective in the Spring 1 2020 Session, several student resources at Professional Studies will receive upgrades.

The Online Deets Library will be mobile enabled to provide an easier experience navigating and locating materials. Tutorials on how to navigate the new features will be available on the site.

Another exciting upgrade will be added to the free student Zoom accounts. Learners will be able to update their current Zoom account to the new Zoom Pro account free of charge. Zoom Pro will enable learners to instant message and call classmates and instructors, and record videos and video meetings with no length limitations. Learners will be able to store recordings in the Zoom Cloud with automatic transcription. In order to upgrade to Zoom Pro, follow these instructions:

• Visit the Southwestern College Zoom
• Click on Sign in and select the SSO option for logging in
• Log in with your SC email address and password
• If you encounter problems, you should refer to the Technical Support Web Page for assistance

Also new in 2020 are two new documents, Organizing for Successful Group Projects and a Group Project Plan. These will be available in the Academic Resources in your course in Blackboard as tools to help you plan and organize for successful team projects. We encourage you to review these new tools once you have access to your Spring 1 classes.
