What is your hometown?

Wichita, KS

What degree did you earn and from where?

Bachelor’s in Sports Communication & Master’s in Organizational Leadership from Newman University.

What made you decide to pursue a career in college advising?

I wanted to work in advising because as a student I struggled with deciding what I wanted to do after college. I want to help others have an easier journey and provide them with some of the knowledge and experiences that I have learned.

What is the best part about your job assisting adult learners?

The best part about assisting adult learners is when their degree helps them get promoted or allows them to pursue other career opportunities.

What have you found makes adults most hesitant about getting back to school and what do you say to help reassure them?

I think adults are hesitant to go back to school because of other time commitments such as their family or career. I believe that online learning provides students a flexible schedule to be able to balance these commitments without feeling overwhelmed.

What is one thing about online college education that you would tell someone considering it?

Online education allows for easier convenience and flexibility while learning. I think that it is a great option for busy individuals!

What do you love most about working for Southwestern College Professional Studies?

I enjoy working with our great office staff and being able to assist learners in their educational journey.
