What is your hometown?

Lawrence, KS

What degree did you earn and from where?

I earned my BS in Interdisciplinary Studies w/ an emphasis on Sport Studies from Chowan University in Murfreesboro, NC. I then earned my MS in Sports Management from Baker University.

What is the best part about your job assisting adult learners?

Their excitement and gratefulness pursuing a degree. Honestly, a simple “thank you” makes my day.

What have you found makes adults most hesitant about getting back to school and what do you say to help reassure them?

How much time they’ve taken off from school. I understand it can be overwhelming because I was in their shoes once. I always say, “You have a support team here at SC.” And it’s the truth. We have such great resources for student success.

What is one thing about online college education that you would tell someone considering it?

How flexible it is because you are not bound by geography.

What do you love most about working for Southwestern College Professional Studies?

Southwestern is constantly evolving. There is an opportunity to grow and develop here.
