Meet Our Staff: Rebecca Burch, Director of Operations for Faculty Affairs

What is your hometown?

I currently live in Poulsbo, WA, but I am originally from Orange County, CA

What degree did you earn and from where?

I have my MA in Counseling from Chapman University

What made you decide to pursue a career in higher education?

I was offered a job at Chapman University and they paid for my master’s degree. After that, I was offered a permanent program manager position there, then a teaching position, and I was hooked! I loved being able to help learners pursue and achieve their goals.

What makes you passionate about supporting PS affiliate faculty?

Since I don’t often work directly with learners anymore, working to improve faculty practices is my way of helping learners to be successful.

What do you find most unique about Professional Studies faculty?

That we have practitioner faculty who are actively working in their respective fields.

What do you love most about working for Southwestern College Professional Studies?

The PEOPLE – hands down! And that includes learners, faculty, staff, and administration. Everyone is awesome to work with and united toward our mission.
