Southwestern College Named One of Top Four-Year Colleges for Adult Learners

Monday, October 8, 2018 – Southwestern College Professional Studies has been named one of Washington Monthly’s top 100 four-year colleges for adult learners in the country.

The nonprofit, bimonthly magazine has been ranking U.S. colleges for the past 13 years. In choosing its Best 4 Year Colleges for Adult Learners, it used eight metrics in its methodology: percentage of students ages 25 and over, flexibility of programs, tuition and fees for in-district students, flexibility of programs, services provided to adult learners, ease of transfer and enrollment, graduation rates of part-time students, mean earnings of adult learners 10 years after entering college, and loan repayment of adult learners five years after entering repayment.

Nonprofit, regionally accredited Southwestern College Professional Studies has proudly educated adult learners for more than 25 years. Since 2001, it’s online bachelor and master degree programs have provided working adult learners, members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their spouses the flexibility they need to balance life and their education on their time from anywhere. Today, Southwestern College offers six-week online courses in more than 30 undergraduate and graduate degree programs.

Professional Studies learners may transfer in credit from prior work, college and military experience. Generous tuition discounts are offered to active duty military and their spouses, and federal financial aid is available to all learners. Students are provided an academic success coach that guides them on their journey from their very first class to graduation.
