WICHITA, Kansas – A few fortunate students in the Southwestern College RN to BSN program will receive part of a $5,000 scholarship grant awarded by the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas Foundation.

It is hopeful recipients of the scholarship dollars will continue practicing in the state of Kansas upon graduating with their bachelor of science in nursing degree.
“Receiving this grant from the BCBS of Kansas Foundation will assist students in furthering their nursing education,” said Amber Pyatt, Southwestern College RN to BSN Program director. “This grant will be awarded in the 2015-2016 academic year, so students who are entering the program in February 2016 will still have the opportunity to qualify. We are elated that the BCBS of Kansas Foundation was generous in providing this grant to the RN-BSN program at Southwestern College.”
The grant will be divided up into five scholarships and will be awarded based on academic merit and financial need.
