Why Choose Southwestern College?

Why Choose Southwestern College?

As a working adult, you want to be able to acquire the skills and knowledge that will enable you to move forward with your career. Many colleges could help you achieve this goal, but Southwestern College Professional Studies knows and understands the adult learner.  Our degree programs are designed with the enhancements that help you learn while continuing with your active life.

Small class sizes.

Most of our courses average 15 or fewer learners. This means that you can engage individually with your instructor, who knows you by name and cares about your success. It also allows you to learn from others who bring rich experiences to the course.

Working adults.

Our programs are designed to allow you to apply tomorrow what you learned today. You learn from the course, the instructor, and your peers, each who brings an interesting and varied work history to the course.

Credit for What You Know!

Southwestern College allows adult students to earn up to 64 credits through a variety of options including military and corporate training, transfer from other institutions, credit by exam and prior learning.

Academic Success Coach.

Nothing is more frustrating than not getting simple questions answered. With your own Academic Success Coach, you have a resource who stays with you during your entire academic career with us. Your ASC is there to encourage you, help resolve problems, guide you in course selection, remind you when it is time to register, and help you find the answers.

Instructors in the field.

Our instructors are practitioners, which means they do what they teach, every day. They teach you the academic background, theory and principles as they demonstrate how they use this in the world. Assignments are practically focused, so you can apply your knowledge to real-world situations, in and out of the classroom.
